Ecoprints and natural dyes

Ecoprinting is a slow sustainable textile process.

I use dye plants foraged locally, and recycled textiles where possible.

After cleaning, the fabric is pre-treated so it can absorb the natural pigments and tannins from the plant materials. Then the chosen leaves are applied, bundled and steamed, in close contact with the fabric.

Each textile has unique variations in colour and pattern, and are made in batches of 1-3. There are no added chemicals, and ecoprinting has a low environmental impact.
