Beautiful luxury eco- printed silk scarf, completely unique. In blues, yellows, and browns.Handmade by myself in my London workshop.All the colours are natural plant dyes. This scarf was first dyed by myself in indigo dye (blue), and then printed with sumac and moringa leaves. The vein detail is easily visible on the leaf.Due to the natural variation and process, there will never be an identical scarf. Ecoprinting or botanical printing is a sustainable process. The item is cleaned, pre soaked in water, and pre dyed (with indigo). Then the silk is mordanted in rust water. Then the leaves were applied to the fabric, bundled up tightly, and steamed so that they gave off their natural pigments. It is then unwrapped and dried. Once dry the silk is washed, dried and ironed.The colours are fixed to the fabric ie colourfast. The edges are hand- rolled and hand sewn by myself.Measures 122cm length22cm- widthThis scarf is hand washable in tepid water, then air dry and cool iron as for silk.Perfect to wear when going to the theatre, opera, garden party, wedding etc, as day or evening wear. You can wear as a head scarf, round neck, shoulders or as a bikini top.
